Maui District Maui District Special Education
The Maui School District consists of schools on the islands of Maui, Moloka'i, and Lana'i. It has a total of thirty elementary, middle, and high schools and two charter schools.
The schools on Maui are divided into Complexes - Baldwin, Maui, King Kekaulike, Lahaina, Hana, Lanai and Molokai. Baldwin Complex is made up by Baldwin High, Iao Intermediate, Wailuku Elementary and Waihee Elementary. Maui Complex is the largest complex with 9 schools. It includes: Maui High, Lokelani Intermediate, Maui Waena Intermediate, Kahului Elementary, Lihikai Elementary, Pomaikai Elementary, Kihei Elementary, Kamali'i Elementary and Kihei Charter School. The schools in the upcountry area makes up the King Kekaulike Complex. Their schools are: King Kekaulike High, Kalama Intermediate, Kula Elementary, Pukalani Elementary, Makawao Elementary, Haiku Elementary and Paia Elementary. Lahaina town was once the Capitol for the State of Hawaii. The four schools in Lahaina - Lahainaluna High, Lahaina Intermediate, Princess Nahienaena Elementary and King Kamehameha III Elementary School are the Lahaina Complex schools. Hana Complex and Lanai Complex each have only one school campus - Hana High and Elementary and Lanai High and Elementary - that provides public education from Kindergarten to 12th grade in a remote rural community. On the Friendly Isle, there are six schools - Molokai High, Molokai Middle, Kaunakakai Elementary, Kilohana Elementary, and Maunaloa Elementary - that make up Molokai Complex. |
